How Atropine and Hydrocortisone Work Atropine and Hydrocortisone is a combination of two medicines: Atropine and Hydrocortisone. Atropine is an anticholinergic medication that works by dilating the pupil of the eye and relaxing the muscles within the eye. Hydrocortisone is a steroid medication that inhibits the production of certain chemical messengers, known as prostaglandins, which cause redness, swelling, and itching in the eye.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Atropine and Hydrocortisone include itching, irritation, stinging sensation, blurred vision, eye redness, and dryness in the mouth.
