How Apraclonidine Works Apraclonidine is a sympathomimetic agent. It functions by reducing the production of aqueous humor (the fluid in the eye), which in turn lowers elevated intraocular pressure.
Common side effects of Apraclonidine include blurred vision, dryness in the mouth, eye discomfort, hyperemia, itching, conjunctival blanching, conjunctivitis, discharge, dry eye, foreign body sensation, eyelid swelling, and teary eyes.
