Roxithromycin and Ambroxol are used in the treatment of respiratory tract infections.

How it Works

How Roxithromycin and Ambroxol work Roxithromycin and Ambroxol is a combination of two medicines that treat respiratory tract infections associated with excessive mucus (phlegm). Roxithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that stops bacterial growth by inhibiting the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. The addition of Ambroxol enhances the antibacterial effect of Roxithromycin.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Roxithromycin and Ambroxol include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and allergic reactions.

  • Take your medication on time to maintain steady levels in your body.
  • Do not skip any doses and complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better.
  • Stopping treatment early may allow the infection to return and become more difficult to treat.
