How Ambroxol, Levocetirizine, and Montelukast work Ambroxol, Levocetirizine, and Montelukast is a combination of three medicines: Ambroxol, Levocetirizine, and Montelukast. Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that relieves allergy symptoms such as a runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways and nose, thereby improving your symptoms.

How it Works

Common side effects of Ambroxol, Levocetirizine, and Montelukast include dryness in the mouth, headache, fatigue, sleepiness, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, otitis media (ear infection), and influenza.

Expert Advice

  • You have been prescribed Ambroxol + Levocetirizine + Montelukast for the prevention of asthma.
  • Take it at the same time each day, preferably in the evening after food.
  • Do not take it with any fruit juices (such as apple, orange, or grapefruit) as they may reduce the drug's effectiveness.
  • This medication does not work immediately and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems.
  • Use your rescue inhaler to manage sudden difficulty in breathing.
  • Your doctor may conduct regular blood tests to monitor the drug levels in your body.
  • Avoid using antacids within 30 minutes of taking this medication, as they can hinder absorption.
  • Notify your doctor if you smoke or have a viral infection, as your dose may need adjustment.
  • Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better.
