Uses

Aluminium Hydroxide, Carboxymethylcellulose, Magnesium Hydroxide, and Simethicone are used in the treatment of heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux).

How it Works

How Aluminium Hydroxide, Carboxymethylcellulose, Magnesium Hydroxide, and Simethicone work: Aluminium Hydroxide, Carboxymethylcellulose, Magnesium Hydroxide, and Simethicone contain three active ingredients. Aluminium hydroxide neutralizes excess gastric acid. Magnesium hydroxide exerts a demulcent effect, protecting the gastrointestinal lining from irritation and erosion. Simethicone alleviates painful pressure caused by excess gas in the stomach and intestines. Carboxymethylcellulose provides stability to the formulation.

Expert Advice

Avoid consuming hot tea, coffee, spicy foods, and chocolate.
Instead, opt for cold milk and cold coffee, as these can help neutralize stomach acid.
Refrain from alcohol and smoking.
Avoid eating late at night or just before bedtime.
Do not take Aluminium Hydroxide + Carboxymethylcellulose + Magnesium Hydroxide + Simethicone at least 2 hours before or after taking other medications, as it may interact with them.
It may take 4-6 weeks or longer for the ulcers to heal completely.
Do not discontinue medication without consulting your doctor first.
