How it Works

How Hydroquinone, Tretinoin, and Allantoin Work Hydroquinone, Tretinoin, and Allantoin is a combination of three medications that treat melasma. Hydroquinone is a depigmenting agent, also known as a skin bleaching agent. It lightens the skin by decreasing the number of melanocytes, the specialized cells that produce melanin, the pigment responsible for skin tone. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A that promotes faster skin renewal. Allantoin is a skin protectant that acts as a moisturizer and alleviates minor skin irritations.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Hydroquinone, Tretinoin, and Allantoin include skin peeling, stinging sensation, erythema (skin redness), and burning sensation at the site of application.
