How it Works

How Hydrocortisone, Zinc Oxide, Lidocaine, and Allantoin Work Hydrocortisone, Zinc Oxide, Lidocaine, and Allantoin is a combination of four medicines that helps treat anal fissures. Hydrocortisone is a steroid that blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) responsible for making the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Zinc Oxide has astringent and antiseptic properties. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to the brain, thereby decreasing pain sensation. Allantoin is a skin protectant that moisturizes and softens the skin.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Hydrocortisone, Zinc Oxide, Lidocaine, and Allantoin include application site reactions such as burning, irritation, itching, and redness.
