How Extractum Cepae-Cepalin, Heparin, and Allantoin Work Extractum Cepae-Cepalin, Heparin, and Allantoin is a combination of three medicines: Extractum Cepae-Cepalin, Heparin, and Allantoin. Extractum Cepae-Cepalin is an anti-scar medication that works by suppressing the activity of a chemical (PGF beta-1) involved in inflammation and the hypertrophic scarring process following an injury. Heparin is an anticoagulant that widens blood vessels to dissolve blood clots and promote blood flow at the injured site. Allantoin is a skin protectant that moisturizes the skin and alleviates minor irritation.
