Alemtuzumab is used in the treatment of blood cancer, specifically chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and multiple sclerosis (MS).

How Alemtuzumab works Alemtuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets cancer cells for destruction by the body's immune system. Additionally, it modulates the immune system to reduce its attacks on the nervous system.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Alemtuzumab include rash, headache, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), nausea, upper respiratory tract infection, decreased white blood cell count, fatigue, fever, itching, flushing (a sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck, and trunk), hives, and decreased lymphocyte count.
