- Your doctor has prescribed Alcaftadine to treat inflammation (redness and swelling) due to eye allergies.
- It is effective for short-term or sudden allergic reactions in the eye.
- Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
- Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before administering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
- A stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 minutes; notify your doctor if it persists longer.
- Ensure to use the medication within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
- Alcaftadine helps relieve allergy symptoms such as itching, swelling, and rashes.
- Compared to other similar medications, it is much less likely to cause drowsiness.
- Exercise caution while driving or engaging in activities requiring concentration, as it may cause dizziness and sleepiness.
