Albendazole and Pyrantel Pamoate are used in the treatment of worm infections.
How Albendazole and Pyrantel Pamoate Work Albendazole and Pyrantel Pamoate is a combination of two antihelmintic medications: Albendazole and Pyrantel Pamoate. Albendazole works by preventing worms from absorbing glucose, which depletes their energy levels. This ultimately leads to the death of the worms and treats the infection. Pyrantel Pamoate functions by binding to the muscle and nerve cells of worms, resulting in their paralysis. The worms are then unable to move and are naturally expelled in the stool.
Common side effects of Albendazole and Pyrantel Pamoate include loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and increased liver enzymes.
