Risorine Kit is a combination of five medicines: Rifampicin, Isoniazid, Piperine, Ethambutol and Pyrazinamide which treat tuberculosis (TB). Rifampicin works by inactivating a bacterial enzyme (RNA-polymerase) which is required by TB bacteria to make essential proteins and to reproduce, while isoniazid prevents the these bacteria from forming their own protective covering. Together, they kill the bacteria and eradicate the infection. Ethambutol and pyrazinamide, on the other hand work by slowing the growth of these bacteria. Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is added to prevent nerve damage which may be a side effect of isoniazid.
Unsafe: It is unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Risorine Kit , as it may lead to symptoms such as flushing, increased heart rate, nausea, thirst, chest pain, and low blood pressure, known as a Disulfiram reaction.
