Cardace Protect 5 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Ramipril and atorvastatin which treat high blood pressure associated with high cholesterol levels. Ramipril is an ACE inhibitor which works by reducing stress on the heart and relaxing blood vessels so that blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently. Atorvastatin is a cholesterol-lowering medicine which works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-Co A-reductase) that is required to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL).
Unsafe: Avoid consuming alcohol with Cardace Protect 5 Tablet as it is deemed unsafe.
Not Safe: Cardace Protect 5 Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
Safe when prescribed by an expert: Cardace Protect 5 Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Not Safe: Cardace Protect 5 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Caution Advised: Cardace Protect 5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Cardace Protect 5 Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for dose adjustment.
