Zediva Syrup is a combination of four medicines: ammonium chloride, bromhexine, dextromethorphan and menthol which relieve wet cough. Bromhexine is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Menthol is an organic compound which produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.
