Pnv New Tablet contains meclizine, an antihistamine with antiemetic properties used to help prevent and treat nausea, vomiting, and dizziness associated with motion sickness and to relieve vertigo (a sensation of spinning or imbalance) caused by inner‑ear conditions. Meclizine works by blocking certain signals in the brain that can trigger these symptoms. It is generally taken before travel to help reduce motion‑related discomfort and may be used under medical direction for vertigo relief.

Pnv New Tablet is indicated for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting, or dizziness associated with motion sickness, as well as the management of vertigo associated with diseases affecting the vestibular system.

This medication provides targeted relief by acting on the central nervous system:

• Antihistamine Action: Meclizine is a first-generation H1-antagonist. It exhibits localized anti-secretory and antispasmodic effects, but its primary clinical impact comes from its ability to decrease central nervous system excitability.

• Vestibular Depressant: It blocks conduction in the inner-ear vestibular-cerebellar pathways. By dulling the excitability of the labyrinth (inner ear) and blocking impulses to the brain's vomiting center, it successfully mitigates the false sensation of movement and associated nausea.

• Anticholinergic Properties: It possesses anticholinergic properties that contribute to its efficacy in managing motion-induced physical distress.

Meclizine has a slower onset but a longer duration of action than some other antihistamines, with effects typically lasting up to 24 hours.

This medicine is used to treat:

Common Side Effects:

Uncommon Side Effects:

• Constipation

• Stomach upset or nausea

• Difficulty urinating

Serious Side Effects (Require Immediate Medical Attention):

• Severe allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing

• Confusion, hallucinations, or severe restlessness

• Little or no urinating, or painful urination

• A rapid or pounding heartbeat

Take Pnv New Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor or according to the package directions. Do not take more than the recommended amount.

• To prevent motion sickness, take the dose about 1 hour before you start your travel activity.

• This medication can be taken with or without food.

• Swallow the tablet whole. If you are taking a chewable tablet, chew it thoroughly before swallowing.

• Do not give this medicine to a child younger than 12 years old unless directed by a doctor.

Meclizine works by reducing the activity of the vestibular system in the inner ear. It blocks the H1 histamine receptors and possesses anticholinergic activity, preventing the transmission of nerve impulses from the inner ear to the vomiting center and the brain's balance centers.

• If you are prone to motion sickness, taking the dose 60 minutes before boarding a vehicle, plane, or boat provides the best protection.

• Due to its long half-life, you usually only need to take this medicine once a day.

• Older adults may be more sensitive to the side effects of this medication, particularly confusion or drowsiness.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep out of reach of children.

• Alcohol: Significantly increases the sedative effects and risk of heavy drowsiness.

Tell your doctor about all your current medicines and any you start or stop using, especially:

• Other medications that cause drowsiness (such as sleeping pills, narcotic pain medicines, or muscle relaxers)

• Other antihistamines

• Anticholinergic drugs

This medicine should be used with caution, or avoided, if you have:

• Asthma or chronic bronchitis

• Glaucoma (narrow-angle)

• An enlarged prostate (prostatic hypertrophy)

• Urinary tract obstruction

Your dose will be determined by your doctor or the instructions on the package based on your age and the condition being treated. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line immediately. Symptoms of a meclizine overdose may include extreme drowsiness, seizures, a very rapid heartbeat, or extreme dry mouth and dilated pupils.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose.
