In Severe bacterial infections Merimix Injection works by killing bacteria which can cause serious infections. It is used to treat many different types of bacterial infections such as infections of lungs (pneumonia) and urinary tract. It is given by a doctor or nurse into a vein and should not be self-administered. Merimix Injection usually makes you feel better very quickly but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. ['Vomiting, Diarrhea, Headache, Rash']

Merimix Injection is a combination of two medicines: Meropenem and Sulbactam. Meropenem is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate Meropenem. Addition of Sulbactam reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Meropenem against bacteria.

Alcohol

Caution: It is important to consult your doctor regarding alcohol consumption while taking Merimix Injection .

Pregnancy

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Merimix Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Merimix Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Seek medical advice from your doctor: It is not known whether Merimix Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney

Caution Advised: Merimix Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Merimix Injection may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Seek medical advice from your doctor: There is limited information available on the use of Merimix Injection in patients with liver disease. Doctor consultation is advised.
