How to use Merano SB Tablet Follow your doctor's guidance regarding the dose and duration of this medication. Ingest it without breaking or crushing. Do not chew, crush or break it.
How Merano SB Tablet works Merano SB Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Meropenem and Sulbactam. Meropenem is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate Meropenem. Addition of Sulbactam reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Meropenem against bacteria.
Alcohol
Consult your Doctor: Please consult your doctor regarding the safety of consuming alcohol with Merano SB Tablet . Experts have not found evidence of alcohol impairing the effectiveness of the medicine.
Pregnancy
Merano SB Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding
Merano SB Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving
It is not known whether Merano SB Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Kidney
Merano SB Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Merano SB Tablet may be needed. Doctor consultation is advised.
Liver
There is limited information available on the use of Merano SB Tablet in patients with liver disease. Doctor consultation is advised.
If a dose of Merano SB Tablet is missed, it's advisable to consult your doctor.
Merano SB Tablet is given as an injection under the supervision of a doctor only. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It may cause dizziness. Don't drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how medicine affects you. It is advisable to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to overcome medicine side effects. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medication as it can enhance the dizziness. Discontinue Merano SB Tablet and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
