Dry cough

In Dry cough A dry cough is a cough where no phlegm or mucus is produced. It may cause a tickling sensation or itching in the throat and may be due to cold, flu, allergies or throat irritants. Gdcit Tablet suppresses severe dry cough and gives you relief from an itchy throat. Apart from this, it also reduces symptoms of allergy like watery eyes, sneezing and runny nose. Along with taking Gdcit Tablet, gargling with warm salt water and having ginger or honey can help you manage dry cough.

The majority of side effects typically do not necessitate medical intervention. and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Doctor consultation is advised if they persist or if you're worried about them. Gdcit Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Guaifenesin, dextromethorphan and cetirizine which relieve dry cough. Guaifenesin is an expectorant which decreases the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and help in its removal from the airways. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Cetirizine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing.

Alcohol

Caution: It is important to consult your doctor regarding alcohol consumption while taking Gdcit Tablet .

Pregnancy

Seek medical advice from your doctor: Gdcit Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Doctor consultation is advised.

Breast feeding

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Gdcit Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. Larger doses or prolonged use of Gdcit Tablet may cause sleepiness and other effects in the baby

Driving

Not Safe: Gdcit Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

Kidney

Safe when prescribed by an expert: Gdcit Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Gdcit Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Doctor consultation is advised.

Liver

Not Safe: Gdcit Tablet is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Doctor consultation is advised.

If a dose of Gdcit Tablet is missed, take it promptly. However, if your next dose is approaching, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Avoid doubling the dose.

Store in a cool and dry place, and keep the temperature below 30�C

Gdcit Tablet is prescribed to get relief from a dry cough. Take exactly as directed by your doctor or on the label. Do not increase the dosage or take for longer than is recommended. Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other medications, e.g., anti-depressants. Consult your doctor if you do not see any improvement and have cough for more than 7 days. Inform your doctor if you have had a cough for a long time or if you have asthma or suffer from serious asthma attacks, or if your cough is accompanied by a fever, rash, or persistent headache.
