Nalidixic Acid Uses Nalidixic Acid is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is also utilized for infections of the urinary tract, tonsils, sinuses, nose, throat, female genital organs, skin and soft tissues, and lungs (pneumonia).

How it Works

How Nalidixic Acid Works Nalidixic Acid is an antibiotic that functions by inhibiting the activity of a bacterial enzyme known as DNA-gyrase. This action prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, ultimately leading to their death.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Nalidixic Acid include nausea, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, rash, vomiting, drowsiness, weakness, vertigo, and abdominal pain.
