How Metoprolol Succinate and Isosorbide Mononitrate work Metoprolol Succinate and Isosorbide Mononitrate is a combination of two medications: Metoprolol Succinate and Isosorbide Mononitrate. Metoprolol Succinate is a beta-blocker that relaxes the blood vessels and decreases the oxygen demand of the heart. Isosorbide Mononitrate is a long-acting nitrate that specifically targets the heart. It works by slowing down the heart rate and enhancing the heart's efficiency in pumping blood throughout the body. Together, they improve symptoms of angina (chest pain) and heart failure.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Metoprolol Succinate and Isosorbide Mononitrate include tiredness, dizziness, depression, breathlessness, slow heart rate, decreased blood pressure, diarrhea, itching, rash, headache, and drowsiness.
