Cinacalcet is used in the treatment of high calcium levels in the blood and hyperparathyroidism.

How it Works

Cinacalcet works by lowering the levels of parathyroid hormone, which helps return calcium levels to normal.

Side Effects

Common side effects of Cinacalcet include nausea, vomiting, weakness, headache, dizziness, rash, back pain, muscle pain, upper respiratory tract infection, paresthesia (tingling or pricking sensation), diarrhea, decreased appetite, constipation, hypersensitivity reaction, decreased calcium levels in the blood, hypotension (low blood pressure), breathlessness, cough, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, and muscle spasms.
